"Awakening" is a fast and beautiful performance yacht. With her sleek design and "blue water" construction, she displays the exemplary sailing and handling qualities for which Ericson's high-end yachts are known. "Awakening" is nimble and fun to sail even in light air, and stable and dry in heavier seas. The interior, which features Ericson's finely crafted teak woodwork, is spacious, bright and comfortable.

CONSTRUCTION: Solid fiberglass hull and fiberglass/balsa core decks. Broad midsection designed for stability; fine forward entry for drier sail to weather. Contoured helm seat for comfort; double lifelines; fin keel; wheel steering; excellent ventilation with three Lewmar overhead hatches plus companionway, 10 opening ports (with screens), four fixed ports, and multiple fans.

ENGINE/ELECTRICAL: 1989 Universal M25XP 3 cyl. 23 hp diesel, freshwater cooling, with 30-gallon fuel tank. Cruising speed: 53⁄4 knots at 2400 RPM. Max Prop feathering propeller. Two deep-cycle batteries (new 2005). Power inverter/charger (for shore connection).

ACCOMODATIONS: Seven berths. Modern three-cabin arrangement with head aft, away from sleeping areas. Max 6’ 2" headroom. V-berth stateroom has large overhead hatch, two opening ports; aft is L-shaped dinette to port with teak dining table (lowers for double berth), long single settee to starboard; aft is L-shaped, galley to port with two deep sinks and pressurized water; NAV station with electrical panel to starboard; aft stateroom has large double berth, four ports opening to cockpit. Extensive storage throughout.

DÉCOR: White hull with blue stripe; elegant oiled teak interior with fine woodwork and joinery; cushioned vinyl ceiling liner; teak-and-holly sole; blue fabric upholstery in excellent condition.

GALLEY: Gimbaled, propane two-burner stove and oven, with Fireboy gas safety detector and controller (new 2005); double stainless sink; hot and cold pressure water, also fresh- and saltwater spigots with foot pumps; two roomy iceboxes; microwave oven.

HEAD: Vanity with sink, hot and cold pressure water with shower, opening port, fan, manual toilet with 15-gal. holding tank and optional overside discharge.

SAILS AND RIGGING: Full range of like-new mylar genoas with Harken roller-furling, Forespar whisker pole; mainsail with jiffy reefing; self-tailing, two-speed winches; halyards and lines (new 2006) lead aft to cockpit; adjustable backstay; double-spreader rig.

ELECTRONICS/NAVIGATION: Raymarine ST 4000 Autohelm with Tri-Data knotmeter, log, depth, wind speed and direction, all at helm; hand-held GPS; Ritchie compass; Micrologic Loran; Standard Horizon VHF; West Marine stereo/CD player with two cockpit and two interior speakers.
