LAYOUT AND INTERIOR NOTES
Courage is an aft-cockpit sloop with Dark Green AWLGRIP topsides, white decks and a cream-colored contrasting non-skid surface. She has accommodations for seven (7) in two (2) cabins with two (2) on the "V" berth is forward, four (4) in the main salon on extending settee berths, and one (1) on the quarterberth aft. Light and ventilation are provided by two (2) opening hatches, the Main Companionway hatch, four (4) opening ports, four (4) fixed portlights and two (2) cowl vents with teak Dorade boxes that have stainless steel guards. The interior is satin-finished mahogany with a gloss trim. Courage has a varnished hand-laid teak and holly sole. The upholstery is a Royal Medium Blue fabric in the Main Salon and Aft Quarterberth; the Forward Cabin is a textured soft Teal fabric. The curtains throughout are White.

FORWARD CABIN
Forward is the V-berth with filler piece. Storage is under the berth and over and outboard in mahogany lockers with ventilation provided by cane sections. There are four (4) lockers each both to port and starboard. The sail locker/chain locker can be accessed from the Forward Cabin. There is an upholstered changing seat, hanging locker to starboard, an opening overhead BOMAR hatch, opening port, privacy door and en suite entrance to the Head.
HEAD
The private head is located to port with separate privacy door. There is a RARITAN electrically-operated marine toilet, with a manual override (which I generally use), vanity aft with storage under, hot and cold pressure water with hand-held shower, linen locker outboard, teak floor grate and an opening port. Further ventilation is provided by a stainless steel cowl vent with teak Dorade box topsides. The head has been converted from raw water intake to fresh water intake. Fresh water will also flow into the sink when you are pumping the head.

MAIN SALON
The Main Salon is amidships with a hanging locker to starboard. A ship's clock and barometer are bulkhead-mounted to port. There are settee berths with extensions both port and starboard that extend to form double berths. There are lockers and book racks over both port and starboard settee berths. There is a centerline-mounted dining table with folding leaf, mahogany trays and glass holders and a wet storage locker outboard. Light and ventilation are provided by a stainless steel cowl vent with teak Dorade box, an opening overhead BOMAR hatch, two (2) opening ports and four (4) fixed portlights.
GALLEY
The "L"-shaped galley is aft to starboard. There is a SHIPMATE three-burner gimbaled stove with oven. There is a storage locker over and outboard, a top-loading ice box with ADLER-BARBOUR refrigeration runs off batteries and shore power, additional storage in locker above and outboard, knife holder at cabinet, deep double stainless steel sink with hot and cold pressure water and with storage under. Additional ambient lighting is provided by a fixed portlight.
Important Notes: Do not run the refrigeration unit unless the engine is on or you are on shore power---it sucks up tons of power. The stove and oven run off of the propane tanks in the aft starboard locker in the cockpit. You must turn on the propane on the tank, and then flip the LP switch located to the right of the electrical panel. The burners can then be turned on and lit with one of the butane lighter or a match. The oven is tricky----gas will not flow to the oven until the pilot light comes on. You must hold down the small button at the back right hand side of the oven for 2-3 minutes for the pilot to come on---then you can turn on the oven gas and it will light off of the pilot.

Aft Quarterberth
The Quarterberth is located aft to port of the Nav Station. The berth serves as a seat for the forward-facing Nav Station.
Electrical
Courage has a total of two (3) 12V House/Utility batteries. There is a separate 12V engine start battery, a HEART inverter in the starboard locker, a SVS battery and system voltage meter as well as 12-volt outlets on the companionway-mounted instrument console and on the circuit breaker panel and on starboard bulkhead at the Galley. Also provided is a shore power cord (30 amp), binnacle compass light, navigation lights including a TRI-GLOW unit on the mast and spreader lights. There is a solar panel that provides a trickle charge to the house batteries. Plug this in to the outlet to the right of the electrical panel whenever you are at anchor or mooring.
Important notes: The inverter must be turned on to use the AC power outlets---there are two switches: 1. allows shore power to flow in (big switch in middle of unit---must be turned on to receive shore power!)) and 2. provides inverted power to the AC outlets (small switch located at the top of the unit.). Unless the load is quite light, I recommend using AC sparingly or when under engine power or on shore power.
