Faraway is an exceptionally well-built vessel built on the west coast of Finland, a region of the world which is famous for their yacht craftsmanship.  Her current owner is a professional sailor and boat builder who has undertaken a major refit over this past winter in order to bring the boat to his demanding standards.  While much of the work done to Faraway has been cosmetic including redoing the teak decks and refinishing the interior all electrical and mechanical systems have been torn down and rebuilt.  With these improvements Faraway is capable of carrying her crew to remote destinations with safety, comfort, and style.

Exterior
The hull of Faraway is finished in navy blue Awlgrip with white and gold striping.  The cabin top and spars are both white, as are the two dodgers and the sail cover. There is teak decking on the side decks, coachroof, and cockpits.

Interior
The entire interior of the boat is upholstered in blue with the exception of the coach roof, which is white.  Teak and holly floorboards throughout.  Every other surface in the boat is varnished teak.  The interior varnish has been finished using both gloss and satin varnishes leaving beautiful contrasts.  Every inch of wood has been refinished this year.  Entering from the aft companionway into the aft cabin on centerline is a chart table with a fold out seat.  To starboard is a double pilot berth, which is 48” wide and 90” long. To port there is a single pilot berth and a opening bulkhead door to the main cabin.  Immediately forward of this door is the galley with a refrigerator, three-burner propane stove with oven, and a double stainless steel sink with both fresh and saltwater faucets.  On centerline is the forward companionway. Across from the galley to starboard there is a enclosed head with shower and a separate hanging locker.  Forward is the main salon featuring a horseshoe seating area to starboard and a straight settee to port with lockers and bookshelves located outboard of both.  Forward of the settee is an opening door leading to the forward cabin.  To port is a large hanging locker and a seating area and dressing table.  Offset to starboard is a double berth with storage lockers underneath.  At the foremost point of the cabin is access to a large storage area in the forepeak.

Sails handling systems
Faraway has been set up to accommodate an owner who often finds himself either alone or as the only knowledgeable sailor aboard, as such sail controls were designed so that she can be easily sailed by one person. The helmsman can easily reach the mainsheet, Genoa sheet, traveler controls and all hydraulic sail handling systems.
